A Little About Me
I’m Ryan Hampton, a recovery advocate, author, and co-founder of Mobilize Recovery.
For years, my work has focused on changing the way we talk about addiction and recovery, and on building a movement led by people with lived experience.
Now I’m taking on a change of my own.
After nine years of vaping, I’m ready to leave nicotine behind — and I’m inviting anyone who’s been thinking about doing the same to join me.

Why I’m Doing This
For almost a decade, vaping has been part of my everyday life.
For a long time, it was easy not to think much about it. It became routine — something I reached for without really questioning whether I still wanted it to be part of my life.
Eventually, I had to ask myself a pretty simple question: Do I really want to keep doing this?
For me, the answer became no.
I don’t expect quitting to be easy, and I’m not pretending I have some perfect plan. I just know I’m ready to make a change.
And because recovery has taught me how much easier change can be when we don’t try to do everything alone, I decided to share this publicly and invite others to come along.

Support For The Journey
I’m not doing this without support.
Mobilize Recovery is partnering with Truth Initiative to connect people with EX Program, which provides tools, guidance, and ongoing support for people who want to quit vaping, cigarettes, and other nicotine products.
EX Program is where I’ll be turning for practical support along the way — and if you’re ready to make a change too, I’d encourage you to check it out.

This Isn’t About Doing It Perfectly
Quitting nicotine can look different for everyone. You might be ready to stop now, still figuring out your quit date, or coming back to it after trying before. Wherever you are, the point isn’t to do it perfectly — it’s to make a change you want for yourself and have the right support along the way.
I’m taking it one step at a time, and if you’re ready to take that step too, I’d love for you to join me.
